Yesterday was just one of those good ass days. The teachers’ training went brilliantly. I fielded a lot of complaints about the foreign teachers, which the elementary teachers especially seemed keen to get of their chests, as they aren’t even specifically English teachers and want nothing to do with the mess to begin with. I hope I helped them to understand a little more about our situations and why we sometimes react to things the way that we do. They were even more eager to ask a ton of questions about how I handle this or that after I gave a demo lesson showing how I can teach completely in English without any translation, which they said they hadn’t believed was actually possible before. Anyway. I’ll probably do a longer post about that later on the other blog once I get home.
But after I headed out to Busan’s for he special dinner he was cooking and it was just a very good night. The kind we’ve been needing. Last weekend’s little four hour chat cleared a lot of shit out of the air.
Unfortunately he’s now lying in bed with a fever sleeping and I’m sitting here waiting to see if he’s going to get better or worse, or if he will need anything before I head home.
He woke up about an hour ago and I asked him if there was anything I could do. He groggily replied, “I… I need… I need cheesecake.” And then pouted until I agreed to make him a cheesecake some time this week. Then quickly fell back asleep.
